Linux - Ubuntu Tweak

Well, I'm not an ubuntu user, though, this also applies for Debian users using the Gnome Desktop...
So, here it goes:

Ubuntu Tweak is an application designed to config Ubuntu easier for everyone.

It provided many usefull desktop and system options that the default desktop environment isn’t provided.

At present, It is only designed for Ubuntu(though I've tested it in debian) GNOME Desktop, and often follows the newest Ubuntu distribution.

Features of Ubuntu Tweak

* View of Basic System Information(Distribution, Kernel, CPU, Memory, etc.)
* GNOME Session Control
* Auto Start Program Control
* Show/Hide and Change Splash screen
* Show/Hide desktop icons or Mounted Volumes
* Show/Hide/Rename Computer, Home, Trash icon or Network icon
* Tweak Metacity Window Manager’s Style and Behavior
* Compiz Fusion settings, Screen Edge Settings, Window Effects Settings, Menu Effect Settins
* GNOME Panel Settings
* Nautilus Settings
* Advanced Power Management Settings
* System Security Settings

How to install:

This time, referring my last article, we haven't any signatures for the repositories, so we'll don't have to worry about that.

You'll have to edit your /etc/apt/sources.list to add this lines:
Code:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/tualatrix/ubuntu gutsy main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/tualatrix/ubuntu gutsy main
So that you can easily install the software... Even though the repos are for ubuntu, Debian also uses the DEB/DEBS format and since Debian is the parent distro of ubuntu (from Debian it was born) they have the same packet system..
So now that we have set the new repos, we'll go to the console (this could also be done with synaptic or Adept, but command line is faster) and do:
Code:
sudo apt-get update # You'll need to do this to update your system's software list every now and then
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-tweak # This will install it.
Done, you'll now have it installed.

And a final screenshot:

NOTE: You can integrate this even more to your desktop with POWER SCRIPTS! check here: Ubuntu Tweak with Power Scripts | Ubuntu Tweak
