Wow. Wasted my time dling and running this version. There was no drivers for ethernet/wireless.

No, it's not, as a matter of facts, is just a patched SP2 with the SP3 pack, and compressed with nLite to create the ISO.

What's the point of this? There are no drivers. Say for example someone formatted their computer and used this and had no backup of drivers. Then they are screwed.

Not even a little bit.
Windows XPs from any Service pack get's the same compatibility layer for drivers...
You should get something like Driver genius and Everest (or just the first one if you don't like to search for them manually)

Okay, but is driver genius a program where it collects the drivers and saves it for later use for like using a newer version windows and replace/adding the drivers?

Exactly, it even uses your internet connection to download the missing ones...
That saves you the time of looking for them yourself in, for example,
