Plot Outline:Neil McCauley is a thief... an expert thief... one of the best. As McCauley's crew prepare for the score of a lifetime, and Hanna's team tries to bring him in, the two find that they are challenged by the greatest minds on the opposite side of the law that either one has ever encountered.

Plot Outline: Taking place over the course of over two decades, City of God tells the story of Cidade de Deus (Portuguese for City of God), a lower class quarter west of Rio de Janeiro. The film is told from the viewpoint of a boy named Rocket (Busca pé in Portuguese) who grows up there as a fishmonger's son, and demonstrates the desperation and violence inherent in the slums. Based on a real story, the movie depicts drug abuse, violent crime, and a boy's struggle to free himself from the slums' grasp.

Your Comments: One of the most powerful movies I have ever seen. I can't stand watching the same film more than once; this one gets played at least twice a year. The storyline is gripping and based on a true story, the filming is very creative, and the acting outstanding. Be advised, the movie is filmed in portuguese (located in Rio de Janeiro). I believe it comes with English translation, but it's not the same, just read the subtitles. The copy I have also has two hours of documentary concerning the drug trade in Rio, which was almost as good as the movie itself. I can't recommend a better movie.

Plot Outline: Journalist Raoul Duke (Depp) and his attorney Dr. Gonzo (del Toro) travel to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1971 to cover the Mint 400 motorcycle race for a sports magazine, and experience a haphazardly-planned vacation. The vacation turns highly irresponsible and reckless as the two consume copious amounts of illegal drugs, commit various acts of fraud, and generally wreak havoc upon the citizens of Las Vegas. The film is a fictionalized account of Thompson and attorney Oscar Zeta Acosta's actual trip to Las Vegas around the same time period.
