u can have a alot more powerfull desktop for the same money when u buy a avrage good laptop.
i guess for students a laptop is better, and for gamers a desktop might be a good choice, but when u can afford it u should buy both so u have the power and flexibility. |

I prefer PC's though I like the portability of a laptop, especially for game nights. Lugging a monitor, box, keyboard, mice is just a pain in the arse, worse if you have water cooling. Nowadays laptops compete pretty well with desktops anyway.. Price is a factor though.

Personally, I have 3 tablet PCs all running XP and a desktop running XP as well. I use them all for business with quickbooks enterprise solutions7.0, but one of them I use for sending out shit to people I dont like....and the desktop I use for call of duty 4...

Depends on what you need. For portability you cant beat a notebook, but for high end simulations, games, number crunching etc I prefer the power and flexibility that a desktop provides. It's not uncommon for a single person to use both a desktop and a notebook, and typically the notebook will be more bottom line and the desktop the main powerhouse.
