Well mates it again very nice to have a chance to talk with my fellows.
As all of us would be noticing that staff changes is occuring on forums due to the Resignation of the senior member...

So as we have new COP'S and also going to have some new MOD'S so I think so I would good make some things clear for new staff members as new staff members are bit confused about this.

As you all now that WHAT IS SPAM & HOW TO CONSIDER A POST AS SPAM is a real hot burning question at forums along time ago So
I think so it is the time to make it clear as new staff is confused at this question

According to the Wikipedia :

Types of spam

Most spambot forum spam consists of links, with the dual goals of increasing search engine visibility in highly competitive areas such as weight loss, pharmaceuticals, gambling, pornography, real estate or loans, and generating more traffic for these commercial websites. Some of these links contain code to track the spambot's identity if a sale goes through, when the spammer behind the spambot works on commission.

Spam posts may contain anything from a single link, to dozens of links. Text content is minimal, usually innocuous and unrelated to the forum's topic. Full banner advertisements have also been reported.

Alternately, the spam links are posted in the user's signature, in which case the spambot will never post. The link sits quietly in the signature field, where it is more likely to be harvested by search engine spiders than discovered by forum administrators and moderators.

Recently, a very destructive forum spam attack has been propagated by inserting into comments redirect domains with an automated posting script like Xrumer. These domains redirect a user to pornographic Websites. If a user clicks on the image or attempts to close the Website an ActiveX codec will be downloaded as a Zlob Trojan[1].


Effects of spam

Spam prevention and deletions measurably increase the workload of forum administrators and moderators. The amount of time and resources spent keeping a forum spam free contributes significantly to labour cost, and the skill required in the running of a public forum. Marginally profitable or smaller forums may be permanently closed by administrators. Forums that do not require registration are becoming rare.

Now making it more clear A post will be real spam If it looks like :

*just 4 posts left , now 3 , now 2 and now I can see links.
*Language is other than English

Treatment:Such a user deserve Ban a temporary one or permanent depending on the circumstances.

And other spammer and leecher posting such posts like:

*LOL hahahaha

Treatment: Such user will get infraction and at the 5th infraction post he will get banned.

And that is it. And dear junior staff members If you are still confused please feel free to make your concepts clear and don't be confused as I STILL REMEMBER WHEN I WAS A COP I WAS NOT AWARE OF THAT HOW TO INFRACT AND WHAT IS SPAM :P

Spam. It's an acronym for "Stupid, Pointless, or Annoying Messege".

I mean, I have kinda my own methods, and it uses a bit of judgement on a lot of cases. Like, there's the blatant spam like the first part... That, I ususally give an automatic 3-day, even if they have less than 5 posts, cause all it is at the moment is a post race.

Also, if they already have a warning, but no moved-to-spam posts then I'll leave them, because the warning has already been given (if it corresponds after or on the user's post date for the spam).

For the second one, the normal leecher spam and useless/annoying posts like "this looks awesome", I usually give them 1 for every spam post, unless it's just like 1 spam post, then it's just a warning (if I catch them that early). I'll normally max out at 10, since that's the maximum a cop's efficiency lasts, anything lasting longer than a 5-day is up to the mods and above to deicide.

It's really not that complicated once you get the gist of good judgment, and sometimes I might even mistake on it. I mean, that's just my method system... yours can be different, not setting a standard, it's just what I do.

So get out there and kick some ass, and remember what spam is, and why you have the powers you do. God I'm so stoned... if I make some horrid spelling or gramatical mistakes, or like sentences like just left hanging off or some shit I don't know, just stoned rambling.

Can we just make a rule in the main xxx sections (exempt the requests section from this) that any post other than posting more xxx of the topic, reserved megathread posts, or legitimate questions and answers (on topic) will be considered spam, because the "thanks" button is ample enough, and spammers always flock to the xxx section anyway, that way we'd just be able to be like "you posted in the xxx section with anything other than above, infraction automatic"... I dunno, it sounds kinda weird, as well as the fact the spammers ignore the rules anyway, that way we could just have basis on it. Almost like overpower, I dunno. xD talking out my ass.

Oh no, because I don't misspell every damn word and make like 3 spelling mistakes, it suddenly means I'm not high, because I can type coherently. I beg to throw a hotdog at your head just cause you can't control yourself when your high, and come to think just because you can't type better than a 2 day old autistic monkey when you toke it up, that anyone who can type correctly is not under any influence at all. When you've gotta drive around town, you'll then realize that you gotta get your shit together, and it's still as fun as normal. Thank you, stop spamming off this topic (oh what do you know), and get off my ass and out of my weed. By the way, I even fixed my THREE mistakes considered "spelling and grammar going downhill". I was only saying that in case I said something that didn't make sense because I didn't feel like proofreading, and not even responding in a new post cause I don't want to contribute to your spam.

We cops can only infract, could you make this a little more clear?

Treatment: Such user will get infraction and at the 5th infraction post he will get banned.

Does this mean we should infract each spam post?

Also, could you tell us when it is necessary to use the warning option instead of giving points?

And sconer you need to infract a person when the spam is not serious and infraction him for all his posts togehther or separtae for each post and when there is a serious spammer you can give him warning and if you gave hum 5 points for a warning It would lead him to a BAN !!
